    Popeye Statue
    The statue of Popeye has been guarding the Crystal City City Hall since 1937, and was the first comic character statue errected in the world. Crystal City is the self-proclaimed Spinach Capital of the World, rivaling Alma, Arkansas.

    Japanese Internment Camp Memorial
    During World War II Crystal City had a Japanese Internment Camp. In the mid-1990s, Crysal City unveiled a memorial monument in the town to remember those who were placed in the camp.
