    Fort Duncan Museum

    The historical site of Fort Duncan was established in 1849 by a US Infantry Company. The museum holds old photos and artifacts to tell the fort's history.

    The First Baptist Church in Carrizo Springs has been part the town's heritage since 1878. It became an historical landmark in 1966.

    Maverick County Courthouse
    Designed to resemble a Spanish fortress, the Maverick County Courthouse is now a historic site. It was constructed in 1885, with several indoor and outdoor renovations conducted over the years to help preserve the porches, courtrooms and paint colors of the courthouse.

    Roma Historic District
    Architecture and deep historical roots have turned parts of Roma into a National Historic District. Its location near the Mexican border as well as the signature building created by Henrique Portscheller make it a popular attraction of the town. The main plaza, the Pink House and other structures were also used in the the Marlon Brando movie Viva Zapata.

    Built just before the 20th century, La Borde House was home to a riverboat merchant. Today it is a historical spot as well as a working hotel and restaurant.

    Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
    This 100-year-old church's original structure blew away in a storm. Today the stone walls hold up a red roof, and attracts many tourists each day.

    Fort McIntosh Laredo
    Established in 1848, the Fort was in continuous use until May 1946. The Laredo Community College is now operating on the grounds. The old guardhouse, chapel, warehouse, living quarters, infirmary, commander's house and commissary remain in use as college department facilities and housing for faculty and students. Tours of the Fort are also available.

    Fort Ringgold
    This fort was named after Major David Ringgold who died during the Battle of Palo Alto. Spots of interest in the fort include the Lee House and the old hospital.

    Dimmit County Courthouse

    The Dimmit County Courthouse was built in 1884, and is still used by the county. Some parts have been remodeled, but much of it is still in its original state.
